Cañón de las Buitreras
An hours’ drive away from Alcaidesa and you can enjoy some practically deserted scenes of spectacular natural beauty. This is the cañón de las Buitreras, or the canyon of the vultures. The steep gorge has been cut away over the centuries, carving the rock into beautiful curved formations. The water is cool and crystal clear to swim in and the vultures are circling above. The pathway runs alongside the gorge and this pool is a half hour walk from the village edge. There is so much natural beauty here on our doorstep in Alcaidesa that after 12 years we are still discovering new places.
